St Albans Symphony Orchestra is very pleased to announce that Bill Carslake will be joining us as Conductor and Artistic Director.
Bill has conducted SASO several times in recent years, saying that “I’m delighted to join the St Albans Symphony Orchestra, and to continue Tom Hammond’s [former Principal Conductor] work serving the St Albans community. I look forward to collaborating with local schools and to playing for citizens who can’t easily access our concerts. See you at a SASO event soon!”
As well as having a busy conducting career, Bill composes music and words inspired by immersive projects in outdoor places. He is interested in nature’s sonic structures and in how we interact with the natural world. He is also a passionate supporter of sustainable maritime shipping.
