Vacancy for a Principal Conductor

Bjorn Bantock will be leaving St Albans Symphony Orchestra at the end of its 2014/15 season, creating a vacancy for a Principal Conductor.

The orchestra, which brings together amateur and semi-professional players, welcomes applications for the post from experienced and inspiring musicians whose leadership will maintain and surpass its current high standards of performance.

The closing date for applications is Friday 19th June 2015.

Selected applicants will be asked to attend an interview in St Albans  on either Tuesday 21st or Thursday 23rd July.  Up to four will be shortlisted for auditions, invited to rehearse the orchestra for one hour during a Wednesday evening in September (16th or 23rd) . Two chosen finalists will be offered guest contracts to rehearse and conduct the orchestra for a concert (on either January 1st  or March 5th  2016) with a view to appointing one of them as Principal Conductor.
