Cellist Matthew Sharp’s moving performance of the Elgar concerto was “superb” according to Herts Advertiser critic John Manning, and “…one of the best solo live performances of the work I have ever heard.”
But he was also excited by Principal Conductor Tom Hammond’s interpretation of William Walton Symphony No 1 and playing where “all involved gave of their best.”
